After a two-year spell as director of the Parliamentary Labour Party (PLP), Matthew Faulding has announced that he will be joining a comms agency.

Matthew Faulding (pictured) has joined Labour-specialist corporate advisory firm Anacta as senior counsel.

He joins the agency having recently finished a two-year spell as director of the Parliamentary Labour Party (PLP), after previously co-founding public affairs agency, Lowick.

During his time at the PLP, Faulding played a ‘crucial role’ in overseeing the selection of the 411 Labour MPs elected in 2024.

Now he joins Anacta, the corporate advisory firm which launched in Australia and New Zealand in 2019, before opening in the UK a year ago.

Anacta’s UK operation is run by managing director Teddy Ryan, who worked for the UK Labour Party for 14 years, where he set up the Labour Business Network.

Ryan said: “In this industry, you can tell a lot about a firm by the people they attract. Matthew Faulding is the latest in a long line of exceptional Labour and public affairs talent to join the team.

“Matthew understands better than anybody how decisions are made at the very highest level and nobody in the UK has better insight into this crop of Labour MPs.

He added: “I am so pleased to have Matthew on board as we continue to deliver exceptional work for clients.”

Faulding said: “After five years working at the heart of Labour politics, I’m absolutely delighted to be joining an agency as clued-in and results-driven as Anacta.

“I look forward to working with brilliant new colleagues to help clients stay ahead of the curve.”

Earlier this year, former Edelman leader David Brain joined Anacta as chair.
